The cushions are well shaped to fit mostly over the ear, without being so big that your entire ear is inside the cushion. It has a library of streaming music that fits the "brand lifestyle" – lots of great West Coast hip-hop and some atrocious Sublime-wanna-be ska-punk – as well as streaming videos of skaters, surfers and snowboarders getting rad. When I say that the bass volume loses step with the mids and highs, these are literally at listening levels that you SHOULD NOT SUSTAIN! Out of all of them, the only one that sounded the least bit musical was the Aviator - everything else was muddy as hell.

Very loud, no distortion, very comfy super soft noise cancelling cushion, cushions are so well insulated that in the winter they block the cold like air muffs . As I listened to the ones on the floor that were connected, I decided the Skullcandies sounded the best for the money. The brand focuses on the “Outdoor sports” demographic of surfin', skatin'and basejumpin' adrenalin junkies. However even at a crowded bus or subway you can still find a good volume level that block outside sounds but isn't loud enough for others to hear.
