About this deal

He has a family living in Thessaloniki, including his beautiful wife Azize (Berguzar Korel), his mother Hasibe (Celile Toyon), his adopted son Ali Kemal (Kubilay Aka), and his daughters Hilal (Miray Daner) and Yıldız (Pinar Deniz). Based on a true story about the Turkish War for Independence (1919-1923), after which Turkey (Türkiye) became a nation. The domestic violence theme may be hard to watch for some but Dennis reminded me of a few "not so nice" guys I've met in my past. The torturer who killed Ölmez Hasan's son, Haydar and Mustafa Sami is also the officer who thinks Cevdet is a traitor.

And yeah how can i forget the dialogues , the writing of the show not only how the story progress but also the dialogues and monologues itself are so inspiring ,thought provoking and full of feelings. One of the first things that caught my attention in this series is the costumography and ambience in general. His mother thought that a love letter he wrote for Hilal was for Yıldız, and wanted him to marry Yıldız. Miray Daner as Hilal She tries to awaken the public with her writings under the pseudonym Halit Iqbal. Instead, this is an intimate portrait of a beautiful Turkish family affected in various ways by war and their commitment to stand against the invaders of their land and home, even at a very high cost that threatens to destroy the family and the deep and abiding love they have for one another. He informs Azize that Cevdet is killed during the war and lets them leave Balkans and move into İzmir, the city in the Aegean region of Turkey. The characterization , character complexities , different aspects of people , representation of situations , family values , love , respect all are so beautifully shown in this that i can't get enough of this . I actually felt sorry for this character near the end as he dealt an interesting hand and manipulated me as well as Rebecca! The main character "Cevdet" is based on the life of Mustafa Mümin Aksoy, whose nickname was "Gavur Mümin". Vatanim Sensin – Azize finds herself in a tought time with her 3 children and mother-in-law, she raises her children while fighting the difficulties of the war period and her husband’s absence whom she loves more than anything, it’s about war, love, greed, treason and sacrifice.

It has led many (including myself) to investigate Turkish history during WWI and the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk years. I would recommend everyone of you out there to give it a try as soon as possible as you'll witness the most endearing love story between Hilal and Leon as well as Cevdet and Azize.During these hard times, Cevdet is betrayed by his close friend Tevfik ( Onur Saylak) and finds himself as captured by allied military soldiers for 8 years. They fight to survive, to stay together, to stay apart, to understand the whirlwind of their circumstances. Tevfik received the document that Cevdet said was a patriot, but Captain Yakup corrected this situation.
